ZDNet Asia is reporting that Dell’s new Tablet PC will be called the Latitude XT. The XT will be based on Intel’s Santa Rosa platform and will almost certainly have a 12.1-inch widescreen display with 1280 x 800 screen resolution, the pen and touch input support, and an optional outdoor viewing capability. It is powered by Intel’s single or dual-core ultra-low voltage (ULV) processor and has an integrated graphics solution reportedly.
Along with WiFi options supporting up to 802.11n wireless standard and Ethernet LAN, Dell Latitude XT has optional Bluetooth and wireless broadband 3G (HSDPA, EV-DO Rev. A) connections. There are also three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, a FireWire, a VGA output, and a fingerprint reader, accompanied by an optional Smart Card slot for enhanced security.
Dell’s new Latitude Convertable Tablet PC has been scoped. This will be the first tablet PC Dell has ever developed, and they’re saying with confidence that it will be one of the lightest on the market when released.
